A pioneer trip, heading into the heart of West Africa, Togo has so much to offer. A tiny country on the coast of west africa home to some very cool species of snakes and reptiles. This expedition is unique in that we will connect with local snake catchers that are legally allowed to collect and sell snakes into the pet trade. Now you might think this to be counter intuitive, working with people whom are collecting wild snakes for the pet trade. But, its quite the opposite, the intension is to create a new avenue for them to generate money through their experience of finding and catching snakes, in hopes of promoting snake safaris in the area.
We will explore the south and north of the country in search of some incredible species: The West african gaboon adder, the rhino viper, a newly described species of forest cobra, ball pythons, calabar pythons, saw scaled vipers and probably the most magificent member of the mamba genus, the West african green mamba.
Join me on this first ever Herpetofauna expedition into the heart of west Africa in search of adventure, exploration and breathtaking wildlife. Let’s discover new places togethere.
